The shading is incredible, found this on god-is-a-pencil, and im gonna have to agree with it in terms of your pencil, or atleast the person behind it
seriously well done!

Thanks man :) I believe the lighting while I captured the photo helped with the values but smooth and careful shading is the key.

That can help a lot. your lucky it photographs well. i do a lot of 2b drawings and they usually have quite a shine. its amazing what can be done with proper shading.

I used charcoal pencil in that, graphite pencils create a shine, while charcoal create almost no shine at all :) try practicing with charcoal, but charcoal pencils require more skill and patience to be blended correctly :)

Ah i didnt realise u were the same age as me!
Great to see people that far along with their skill. It was the only thing i did as a kid and i continued on with it since. How did u get into it?

I also started as a kid, also one advice I can give to develop your skills faster is to practice more and explore more on your own than watching other's tutorials, try developing your own style and be good into it, I mean REALLY GOOD. In that way you stand out,. cheers! ;) keep practicing

ya i think thats apt, i dont really watch tutorials much i just do it myself. Like i was just taken by yours cause u have the hand of someone who has been doing it for years and its hard to find that. Both my parents are artists and its been my whole life really.
every drawing done is practice

Ya they really do
iv used charcoal a bit but im really at ease with pencil. Im prob gonna start trying with it tho cause it is interesting to use and has a whole load of different techniques.
the shine is only really a problem for showing them digitally i think but i keep using pencils that are too light and never quite get the right effect
thanks for your response!

If you draw human bodies like that I suggest have an in depth study of the human anatomy, or just have a deep observation of how body works, then improve your shading skills and foreshortening, you should be able to imagine what you should draw in the first place, especially if you don't have a reference like that one I made above. then don't forget to practice and practice and practice, don't force yourself to reach the highest point in one shot, have patience... thats all :) , if you still have questions just pm me. By the way if your camera took a bad quality shot of the drawing, you can go to Ps and adjust brightness and contrast.
